Killswitch Engage stormed through Brooklyn, New York with a super stacked lineup including legends Machine Head, Virginia thrashers Iron Reagan, and Colorado’s own Havok.
It was a sizzling evening in New York City at the Brooklyn Paramount as concertgoers started filing into the venue for what was going to be an even hotter evening of thrash and metal.
Denver thrash veterans Havok set the night off, and wasted no time ripping into razor-sharp riffs at relentless speed. They transformed the room into a sea of flying hair and circle pits. Frontman David Sanchez was locked in while commanding the stage, delivering strong vocals while shedding his six-string. The rhythm section killed it throughout the set, giving the songs a crushing foundation that rocked the floor of the Paramount.
What stood out the most was the band’s energy. Despite being the opening band on one hell of a line-up, Havok definitely brought that fire, reminding everyone that thrash metal is alive and well.
The energy in the room was elevated as it was about that time for the one and only Iron Reagan to turn the venue into a whirlwind of chaos. Frontman Tony Foresta brings it with his trademark mix of humor and aggression, while the band ripped through short, raw explosive songs. Their set was chaotic in the best way possible, fast, loud, and completely uncompromising. The venue’s atmosphere really amplified the intensity, making Iron Reagan’s short set feel like a headline performance in its own right. They blasted through a powerful set 15 tracks to be exact of old and new songs such as “Your Kid’s an A**hole” and “F**k The Neighbors” which are both fun fast thrash for the restless.
Iron Reagan will be dropping their new EP Demonetization this coming September, which is sure to be an absolute banger. Be sure to pick it up.
West Coast legends Machine Head took to the stage, as the Paramount was packed and the crowd was amped. Frontman Robb Flynn hit it hard, wasting no time kicking off their set with “Imperium” from their 2003 release of Through the Ashes of Empires as the crowd surfing, headbanging, and circle pits erupted throughout the room.Robb Flynn commanded the crowd with his trademark intensity and crushing riffs throughout the whole set as the rhythm section brought the thunder the way only Machine Head does every time. Fans responded with deafening sing-alongs and nonstop movement on the floor, bringing some of the most energetic moments of the evening. What makes Machine Head stand out live is their ability to blend technical precision with their raw aggression across the span of their catalog.
The visual production matched the music’s intensity, with killer lighting and serious stage presence that never allowed the energy to take a dip, as every breakdown felt larger than life as waves of light and sound crashed over the audience. As always, Machine Head did not disappoint, so be sure to make it a point to catch them on this current tour.
Metalcore giants Killswitch Engage stormed the stage as the crowd’s anticipation was at its peak, turning the Brooklyn Paramount into a furnace of sweat, sing-alongs, and circle pits. Jesse Leach was in exceptional form all night from the very first song. He was off the stage, over the barricade, and crowd surfing. The energy was electrifying. His connection with the crowd was genuine, making a large theater show feel more intimate.Adam Dutkiewicz and Joel Stroetzel brought the serious duel-guitar attack, delivering crushing riffs and harmonized leads with flawless execution, while bassist Mike D’Antonio and drummer Justin Foley rocked the thunderous rhythm section till they shook the historic venue.
The band dove deep into their catalog, playing some crowd favorites such as “The End of Heartache” and “My Curse,” which received some of the best reactions of the night. Newer material from their 2025 release, This Consequence, fit seamlessly into the set, proving that Killswitch Engage remains relevant and inspired as ever, as they brought the heat to Brooklyn.
