311 and Dirty Heads bring their mid-summer So Glad You Made It Tour to New York with support from Australia’s Ocean Alley and Rome.
It couldn’t possibly be a better summer night for some great live music at Long Island’s own Jones Beach Amphitheater as the cool breeze rolls in off the bay and the venue fills up with fans for what will be a most epic evening with 311 and Dirty Heads.
Opening the night was Rome, and, as always, he did not disappoint, bringing a nostalgic performance with timeless hits and the great energy that has defined his band for many years. From the opening song, Rome had fans on their feet and singing along to every chorus. Rome Ramirez is best known as the frontman of Sublime with Rome. The set included a great selection of songs, such as “Break Free” and “Rock You,” which always receive a strong crowd reaction and, as expected, a few Sublime classics that are a must. Between songs, the band connected with fans, expressing their appreciation for the loyal fans who have supported them throughout the years.

Australian rockers Ocean Alley wasted no time hitting the stage as they brought a laid-back vibe, delivering a captivating set and quickly winning over the crowd. The band was tight with a great presence. Ocean Alley leaned right into their signature blend of psychedelic rock and reggae grooves, which filled the open-air theater. The band displayed their chemistry with intricate guitar solos and smooth rhythms, keeping the audience locked in from start to finish.
Frontman Baden Donegal’s vocals complemented the band’s warm, melodic sound, while the rhythm section maintained the infectious groove that had fans moving all throughout their set. As the sun began to set over the bay, Ocean Alley’s music became more of a soundtrack, just proving why they continue to grow their international following. Their set left a lasting impression and served as an ideal lead-in for the night’s headliners. They bring a feel-good style, so don’t miss them as they will be on this tour until August 15th in California.
It was about that time of the night for co-headliners Dirty Heads to bring their pure reggae rock madness to the Jones Beach stage, and they absolutely crushed it from the first note to the last as if it were one big beach party.
The band delivered a tight performance that effortlessly blended reggae, rock, and hip-hop influences. They opened their set with “Seven Seas,” the title track off their 2026 release. They immediately had the crowd moving and singing along as they carried through to more fan favorites, like “Burn Slow” and “My Sweet Summer,” which received a great crowd reaction.
Frontmen Jared “Dirty J” Watson and Duddy D were on top form, effortlessly throwing down verses while commanding the stage and feeding off the crowd’s energy. Their chemistry was spot on. Between songs, they kept the atmosphere relaxed, making the audience feel they were part of the show instead of just simply watching it. The heavy bass grooves and smoke filled the amphitheater while the wild visuals captivated the onlookers.
One of the biggest highlights came during their hit song “Lay Me Down” when Rome joined Dirty Heads on stage. The collaboration brought one of the loudest reactions of the evening as fans joined together for one big sing-along. Closing out their set with “Medusa” made for a perfect ending. The legendary 311 took to the stage promptly at 9.45 PM, and the Jones Beach crowd was electric. The band wasted no time diving right into “Beautiful Disaster” from their fourth studio release, Transistor, which threw the crowd straight into their zone and on their feet. They followed with classics such as “All Mixed Up” and “Come Original,” which received full-on sing-alongs.
The band’s chemistry is next level, like a well-oiled machine, as vocalists Nick Hexum and S.A. Martinez dropped verses while vibing off each other’s flow. The band’s sound was crisp and powerful throughout the amphitheater, while Tim Mahoney’s crisp, clean guitar work and Chad Sexton’s thunderous drumming reverberated all night.
One of the biggest highlights of their set came during “Applied Science,” when all members took part in a killer synchronized drum performance. All five members tossed drumsticks to one another, over their heads and side to side, as if it were an optical illusion, which drew some of the loudest ovations of the night. Absolutely flawless and something not to be missed.
Overall, 311 delivered exactly what the fans came to see: a high-energy, perfectly performed summer concert, filled with timeless songs, uplifting vibes, and perfect musicianship. As co-headliners of the So Glad You Made It Tour, 311 proved why they remain one of the tightest touring bands, delivering a balanced set full of fan favorites and deep cuts.
