Vans Warped Tour Day Two at RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, DC

Despite triple-digit temperatures and looming severe weather threats, day two of Vans Warped Tour saw fans once again pack the RFK Festival Grounds.

Staying hydrated became the unofficial theme of day two, with bands frequently reminding fans to drink water and take care of themselves in the oppressive humidity. While overcast skies provided some relief from the direct sun, the conditions remained challenging throughout the day. Security crews worked tirelessly, launching SOS water packets into the crowd at a steady pace to help keep festivalgoers safe and cool as the hours wore on.

Fluorescents kicked off our day in fitting Warped Tour fashion, with mosh pits opening up early, and crowd surfers already making their way over the barricade. Songs like “On & On” and “Crazy For You” had fans singing along while the band’s energetic stage presence kept the crowd engaged throughout the set. Their performance provided an early jolt of energy and set the tone for another action-packed day at RFK Festival Grounds.

Jutes was next on the main stage, delivering a raw, emotionally charged performance that connected with fans throughout the crowd. Blending alternative rock with modern R&B influences, his sound offered a refreshing contrast to many of the day’s heavier acts. His strong vocals, infectious hooks, and confident stage presence made him a natural fit for the festival’s largest stage, earning an enthusiastic response from both longtime followers and those discovering his music for the first time.

American Hi-Fi brought a healthy dose of early-2000s nostalgia to Warped Tour, drawing longtime fans eager to relive some of the band’s biggest hits. The set featured favorites including “The Breakup Song,” “The Art of Losing,” and “Another Perfect Day,” but it was “Flavor of the Weak” that sparked the loudest sing-along of the afternoon. Decades after its release, the song remains an enduring pop-punk anthem, proving American Hi-Fi’s catalog still resonates with Warped Tour audiences old and new.

The Academy Is… brought plenty of energy to the stage, delivering a performance that felt like a throwback to Warped Tour’s heyday. Fans enthusiastically sang along to favorites like “The Phrase That Pays,” “About a Girl,” and “Slow Down,” while frontman William Beckett kept the crowd engaged with his trademark charisma. Adding to the excitement, microphone stands seemed to spend almost as much time in the air as they did on the stage, with Beckett repeatedly tossing and catching them throughout the set. Closing with “Almost Here,” the band delivered a nostalgic performance that reminded fans why they remain such a beloved part of the Warped Tour legacy.

Hoobastank brought a wave of early-2000s rock nostalgia to Warped Tour, delivering a set packed with the songs that made them household names. Fans sang along to favorites including “Same Direction,” “Running Away,” “Out of Control,” and “Crawling in the Dark,” but the biggest surprise came during “The Reason.” Rather than the emotional singalong many might expect, the crowd turned the song into an unlikely mosh pit, creating one of the more memorable and entertaining moments of the day. The band also debuted their new song, “How Do You Sleep,” giving fans a glimpse of what’s next while proving their classic hits still connect just as strongly with audiences today.

3OH!3 turned Warped Tour into one giant dance party, delivering a nonstop barrage of electro-pop anthems that kept fans moving from start to finish. The duo had the crowd jumping and singing along to hits like “STARSTRUKK,” “Double Vision,” “My First Kiss,” and “DONTTRUSTME,” while their high-energy stage presence made it impossible to stand still. Equal parts nostalgic and chaotic, 3OH!3’s set felt like a time capsule from Warped Tour’s late-2000s era and proved their party-starting formula still works just as well today.

New Found Glory brought an incredible amount of energy to the stage, proving once again why they remain one of pop-punk’s most beloved live acts. From the opening notes of “Understatement,” the crowd was fully engaged, singing along to classics like “Hit or Miss,” “All Downhill From Here,” and “Head On Collision.” The band’s infectious enthusiasm never let up, turning the entire set into one giant sing-along. Closing with fan favorite “My Friends Over You,” New Found Glory delivered one of the most energetic and crowd-driven performances of the day, with fans screaming every word back at the band.

The Story So Far continued the parade of Warped Tour favorites, delivering a set packed with the songs that have made them one of the defining pop-punk bands of the modern era. Major highlights included “Nerve,” “Heavy Gloom,” “Things I Can’t Change,” and “Quicksand,” all of which sparked massive sing-alongs throughout the crowd. Their no-frills approach and relentless energy allowed the songs to speak for themselves, proving why The Story So Far remains a staple of the scene and a must-see act on any Warped Tour lineup.

Drug Church brought some of the heaviest energy of the day, turning the area in front of the stage into a constant swirl of moshing and crowd surfing. Frontman Patrick Kindlon commanded the crowd with his trademark intensity as fans surged toward the barricade and surfers flowed overhead throughout the set. Their blend of hardcore aggression and melodic punk made for one of the most chaotic and entertaining performances of the afternoon, embodying the raw spirit that has always been a cornerstone of Warped Tour.

Coheed and Cambria brought a powerful dose of progressive rock to the Warped Tour main stage, delivering a set packed with fan favorites from across their catalog. Highlights included “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3,” “Blood Red Summer,” “A Favor House Atlantic,” “The Suffering,” and the epic set closer “Welcome Home,” all of which drew massive reactions from the crowd. One of the most memorable moments came during the closing stretch when Claudio Sanchez strapped on a double-neck guitar and sprinted across to the opposite side of the main stage, shredding a solo directly in front of fans packed against the far barricade. The move sent the crowd into a frenzy and provided a fitting exclamation point on one of the day’s standout performances.

We finished our night with Jimmy Eat World, whose set provided the perfect soundtrack to close out another memorable day at Warped Tour. The band leaned heavily on the songs that helped define a generation, opening with “Bleed American” before rolling through fan favorites like “A Praise Chorus,” “The Middle,” and “Sweetness.” Thousands of fans sang along to every word, turning the festival grounds into one massive chorus. Emotional moments came during “Hear You Me,” while songs like “Pain” reminded everyone why Jimmy Eat World remains one of the most beloved bands to emerge from the early-2000s alternative and emo scene.

Of course, the night was far from over. As Jimmy Eat World’s set came to a close, fans still had plenty to look forward to with Yellowcard and Killswitch Engage set to carry the party late into the evening. Whether you were drawn to sing-along anthems, pop-punk nostalgia, or crushing breakdowns, Warped Tour continued delivering something for everyone well after the sun had gone down.

Despite forecasts calling for severe weather throughout the day, the storms largely held off, allowing fans to enjoy another packed schedule of music from start to finish. The heat and humidity remained relentless, testing the endurance of everyone on the festival grounds, but the atmosphere never wavered. Fans looked out for one another, bands frequently checked in on the crowd, and water became the most valuable commodity of the weekend.

As the Washington, D.C. stop came to a close, it was clear that Warped Tour’s magic has never been about perfect weather or comfortable conditions. It’s about the community, the shared memories, and the connection between artists and fans. From the earliest sets of the morning to the final notes ringing out across RFK Festival Grounds, the energy never faded. The heat was intense, the crowds were massive, and the vibes were unmatched—a fitting reminder of why Warped Tour continues to hold such a special place in the hearts of music fans decades after it first began.

The 2026 Vans Warped Tour continues with stops in Long Beach, California (July 25-26), Montreal, Quebec (August 21-22), Mexico City, Mexico (September 12-13), and Orlando, Florida (November 14-15).
