On what was an almost stormy evening in Richmond, Virginia, turned out to be a magical one that kicked off Lindsey Stirling’s Duality Untamed Tour.
The threat of thunderstorms and rain wasn’t enough to keep fans away from attending the first stop of Lindsey Stirling’s Duality Untamed Tour. The evening kicked off with pop-rock band PVRIS, who did a fantastic job setting the vibe for the show. With their electronic sound, the Massachusetts band had the crowd either bobbing or swaying to the music, warming them up for what was to come. The dark clouds looming over the venue almost seemed to add another layer to the atmospheric sound of the band. The emotional delivery of the set paired well with the performance later to come.
The crowd was practically buzzing by the time Lindsey Stirling took to the stage. Any semblance of inclement weather that was on the horizon earlier in the evening had dissipated with only a soft, cool breeze left in its wake. Beginning the show with emotionally driven visuals, the set began with video reel samples pulled from Stirling’s music videos, ranging across her discography. With a voice over that painted an elaborate story to set the stage for the show, attendees were treated to video snippets that featured both old and new songs. High above the crowd on the set design’s riser, Stirling appeared once the montage was complete to introduce the concert goers to a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir.” Stirling wasted no time or energy as she made her way down the riser and across the stage.
The setlist for the evening ranged from both older favorites to newer hits and included some fun medleys, like the rendition of “Sandstorm,” which Stirling commented was the song that kicked off her love of EDM. At one point during the set, Stirling was joined on stage by the electroacoustic duo ARKAI to perform their song “High Noon.” Then there was the nostalgic mashup of popular song “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” leading into Stirling’s “Roundtable Rival,” which included “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” towards the end. The creativity from Stirling’s mixing mastery knows no bounds. The evening concluded with “Eye of the Untold Her” off of Stirling’s 2024 album Duality.
If you have never seen a Lindsey Stirling show before, one thing many notice is that not only is her energy infectious, but her absolute joy and love for the performance is as well. Stirling practically floats across the stage during her shows. Her ability to move the way she does while playing a violin without missing a single beat is pure art and absolutely incredible. Whether she’s flying across the stage in graceful movements or performing aerials while simultaneously playing the violin, her performances will leave the entire crowd moved.
The Duality Untamed Tour will conclude on August 22, 2026, in Indianapolis, IN. Lindsey Stirling’s energetic performances are not to be missed, so if the opportunity arises to attend a show, you absolutely should.
