Rancid and Dropkick Murphys will once again hit the road together, this time for the Boston To Berkley II Tour this fall.
Dropkick Murphys and Rancid first joined forces for the first tour back in 2017. This time, they will bring special guests The Bronx with them. The 34-date tour gets underway on August 10 and will conclude on October 16.
After being sidelined for the majority of 2020, both are excited to back underway. For Dropkick Murphys, the pandemic allowed them to play shows virtually, including a St. Patrick’s celebration earlier this year that garnered national attention. According to members of the band, there’s nothing quite like hitting the road. “Can’t wait to get back out there and kick the touring door open again,” said Dropkick Murphys’ singer and bassist Ken Casey. “This is a great lineup, and we are gonna take the country by storm.”
Before heading out for the first Boston to Berkley II Tour, Rancid and Dropkick Murphys were familiar with each other. Once being turned on to the Murphys by bandmate Lars Frederiksen in the late 90s, Rancid’s Tim Armstrong heard the Boston-based punk rockers, he immediately signed them to his label, Hellcat Records, and as they say, the rest is history.
The Boston to Berkely II Tour gets underway on August 10 in Waite Park, MN. Fans of the bands will have to wait to show day to find out who the closing act will be as Rancid and Dropkick Murphys will alternate the schedule by date.
