Pierce The Veil brought their signature blend of post-hardcore emotion and explosive energy to the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.
Pierce The Veil delivered a performance that reminded fans why they’ve remained one of the most dynamic bands in the alternative scene. With a setlist spanning their discography, from early anthems to newer material, the San Diego quartet transformed the massive outdoor venue into a charged, communal space where nostalgia met raw catharsis.
As the lights dimmed and a cinematic intro filled the amphitheatre, the crowd erupted into cheers. When the band launched into “Pass the Nirvana,” the air instantly thickened with adrenaline. Frontman Vic Fuentes’ voice—equal parts melodic and anguished—cut through the humid South Florida night, while guitarist Tony Perry, bassist Jaime Preciado, and drummer Loniel Robinson (filling in for Mike Fuentes) matched his intensity with tight, thunderous precision. The audience, a sea of fans who’d grown up on Collide With The Sky and Misadventures, shouted every lyric back, a testament to the enduring impact of Pierce The Veil’s emotionally charged songwriting.
The setlist was a perfect balance of old and new. “Bulls in the Bronx” and “King for a Day” drew some of the night’s loudest reactions, with circle pits opening and fans climbing onto shoulders to scream along. Midway through the show, Fuentes took a quieter moment to address the crowd, thanking them for “sticking with us through every era.” That sentiment bled into an acoustic rendition of “Hold On Till May,” which saw thousands of phone lights illuminating the amphitheatre, creating a breathtaking sea of soft white glow under the Florida sky.
Newer tracks from their 2023 album The Jaws of Life showcased the band’s evolving sound—grittier, more grounded, yet unmistakably Pierce The Veil. Songs like “Emergency Contact” and “Even When I’m Not With You” resonated deeply, their reflective lyrics taking on new life in a live setting. Perry’s guitar work shone throughout, weaving melodic riffs with searing solos that elevated each song beyond its studio version. Preciado’s boundless energy and connection with the crowd were infectious, as he leapt across the stage and shouted encouragement between songs.
Visually, the production was stunning. Vivid strobes, bursts of pyrotechnics, and sweeping backdrops synced perfectly with the music’s peaks and valleys. During “Caraphernelia,” confetti rained over the crowd as Fuentes’ vocals soared, closing the main set with a perfect mix of chaos and catharsis. When the band returned for their encore—ending with “King for a Day,” featuring a surprise video cameo from Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn—the amphitheatre reached a fever pitch.
By the time the final chords rang out, Pierce The Veil had given West Palm Beach more than just a concert – this was an experience of shared emotion, energy, and gratitude. Nearly two decades into their career, the band continues to evolve without losing the heart that made them icons of their genre. This show proved that Pierce The Veil aren’t just surviving—they’re thriving, louder and more passionate than ever.
