BITE ME by Reneé Rapp

Reneé Rapp’s second studio album, BITE ME, is a testament for listeners to authentically express themselves in an uninhibited way.

Reneé Rapp got her start playing Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls from 2019 to 2020. She also played Regina George in the musical film adaptation of Mean Girls, which was released in 2024. In 2022, she released her debut EP, Everything to Everyone, followed by her first studio album, Snow Angel, which was released in 2023. Her upcoming studio album is called BITE ME. This album tackles a few subjects, including relationships and how Rapp feels about them.

The first track on BITE ME is “Leave Me Alone.” The track starts with a fun percussive beat that continues throughout the song. This track is about the ways that people annoy Reneé Rapp by asking her about different things, and the ways people are in her business when she just wants to “have fun.” One example is her manager calling her asking “where’s the single,” and she responds with, “Leave me alone, I wanna have fun.”

Rapp slows things down a little with the fourth track, “Sometimes.” On this track, Rapp sings about only being there during certain moments that benefit her lover and not other moments. “I’m tired of being a good time, it’s killing me having you sometimes,” she passionately sings. The track also has a beautiful, piano heavy instrumental that adds more emotion to the track.

“SHY” is the eighth track on BITE ME. This more upbeat track is Rapp saying that she wants more with this person, but she’s “a little bit shy.” She also sings “I’m good at keeping it cute, but on the inside, I’m freaking out thinking about how bad I need you,” solidifying the idea that she actually does want more out of their relationship.

The last track is called “Wouldn’t You.” “Wouldn’t You” has a pop-rock sound and is about a previous relationship Rapp had been in. On this track, she is going through different scenarios asking, “I bet you’d like that, wouldn’t you?” to her ex. One of the scenarios is if Rapp showed up to her ex’s wedding and said to call it off, followed by the question, “Would you like that?”

BITE ME covers many topics, including talking about what you need out of a relationship, as well as just having fun with your life. BITE ME is an album that showcases Reneé Rapp’s vulnerability and encourages listeners to accept themselves and be authentic to themselves. The Bite Me Tour starts September 23, 2025, in Morrison, Colorado, with Syd and Ravyn Lenae performing during their respective US tour dates and Absolutely performing during the UK and Europe dates. BITE ME is out today.
