Volbeat at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI

Volbeat ignited Pine Knob Music Theatre on their Greatest Of All Tours Worldwide with Halestorm and The Ghost Inside, delivering a night of thunderous rock.

The Ghost Inside stormed the stage with a sound that felt explosive from the first note. Jonathan Vigil commanded the crowd’s attention, his vocals carrying both fury and conviction. “Going Under” erupted with crushing weight, as Zach Johnson and Chris Davis locked into a guitar assault that set the crowd surging forward. Jim Riley’s basslines added a deep pulse that kept the energy grounded while Michigan’s own Andrew Tkaczyk drove the entire performance with relentless precision on drums, especially during the punishing chaos of “Death Grip.”

“Dear Youth (Day 52)” had fans yelling every word back to them. “Earn It” and “Wash It Away” kept the pit surging, the riffs sounding massive live. When “Avalanche” hit, the chaos peaked, with heads banging and voices raised in unison. They closed with “Aftermath,” a crushing finale that left the room ringing.

The Ghost Inside delivered a set that was heavy, tight, and relentless. No filler, no breaks, just a band at full strength, leaving the audience wrecked and raging for more.

The roar of the crowd swelled as Halestorm took the stage with the electrifying “Fallen Star.” Lzzy Hale stepped forward, her unmistakable voice and guitar in hand, immediately pulling the crowd in. The band then launched into “I Miss the Misery” and “Love Bites (So Do I),” songs that had the audience singing at the top of their lungs and moving with every riff. Joe Hottinger’s guitar lines cut through the mix with fire and clarity, while Josh Smith’s bass provided a deep, steady drive that powered the momentum.

The new material from Everest shone brightly. “Broken Doll” carried a shadowy elegance, and the title track “Everest” soared with a sweeping chorus that hung in the air long after the final note. “WATCH OUT!” and “Shiver” punched grit into the night, proving these songs already stand shoulder to shoulder with fan favorites.

One of the evening’s most striking moments came with “Darkness Always Wins.” At Lzzy’s request, the venue lit up with lighters and phones, filling the space with a glowing sea that perfectly matched the song’s haunting power. The drama continued with “Rain Your Blood on Me,” introduced with a chilling nod to “Familiar Taste of Poison.” Arejay Hale’s thunderous drum solo then pushed the energy higher, paving the way for “Freak Like Me” and “K-I-L-L-I-N-G.”

Closing with “I Gave You Everything,” Halestorm left the audience with a sense of catharsis, merging passion, ferocity, and connection into an unforgettable night.

Volbeat launched their set with theatrical flair, opening with a cloud of smoke and the eerie sound of a goat bleating through the speakers before charging into “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown.” From that moment, the energy in the room never wavered. Michael Poulsen’s commanding vocals and sharp guitar work led the way, while Flemming Lund’s riffs carved through each song with unrelenting power.

“Lola Montez” brought an immediate sing-along, fans echoing every word. The atmosphere shifted beautifully when Poulsen strapped on an acoustic guitar for “Sad Man’s Tongue,” weaving in Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” before the track erupted in full. One of the most heartfelt moments came during “Fallen,” which Poulsen dedicated to lost loved ones, especially his father.

Jon Larsen’s drumming powered each song with unshakable intensity, while Kaspar Boye Larsen’s bass lines added a heavy undercurrent that anchored the sound and amplified the band’s signature groove. Their presence elevated newer cuts from God of Angels Trust like “Demonic Depression” and “By a Monster’s Hand,” as well as the live debut of “Sorry Sack of Bones.” “For Evigt” transformed the space into a glowing sea of lights as fans held up phones, creating a stunning visual backdrop.

The night hit a fierce peak with “A Warrior’s Call,” which featured a fiery tribute to Ozzy Osbourne through “Children of the Grave. Closing with “Still Counting,” Volbeat unleashed a blistering breakdown that was both ferocious and unforgettable.
