Slightly Stoopid’s Step Into the Sun Tour brought Iration and Little Stranger to BankNH Pavilion for a humid but energetic night of music in Gilford.
Little Stranger opened the night with a fun mix of hip-hop and alternative sounds. The duo, made up of Kevin Shields and John Shields (no relation), brought a ton of energy to the stage. The crowd started small but steadily grew as their set went on. They performed songs like “Coffee & a Joint” and “Sunburn,” and got the audience moving with a rap over the beat of “Feel Good Inc.” by Gorillaz. Kevin played the melodica throughout the set, adding a unique and recognizable layer to their sound. Despite the heat and humidity, their performance kept the energy up. A steady breeze started rolling in just as the set wrapped, offering some relief from the sticky summer air.
Iration followed with a smooth, reggae-rock set led by Micah Pueschel on vocals and lead guitar. His strong stage presence and clean sound filled the venue as the crowd grew louder and more engaged. They played fan favorites like “Summer Nights” and introduced their new single “Say Goodnight.” By the time they closed with “Time Bomb,” the audience was dancing and singing along throughout the lawn and pavilion seats. Though the humidity lingered, the breeze held steady as the storm missed the venue, leaving behind a relaxed and mellow vibe. Many fans came dressed in tie-dye and earth tones, which added to the laid-back atmosphere of the night. After a delayed start, Slightly Stoopid took the stage to a wave of excitement from the crowd. The band wasted no time launching into their set, backed by a vivid display of colorful lights and psychedelic graphics. Their performance was equal parts smooth and high-energy, moving seamlessly between grooves and jams that kept fans locked in. Early in the set, “This Joint” drew a loud response, with many already on their feet and dancing. Later, “Closer to the Sun” had the crowd swaying and singing along in unison. The band closed the night with “Young, Wild and Free.” The breeze stuck around, helping ease the late summer heat as the night came to a close.
