Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre bid farewell to their 2025 concert season with a great finale co-headliner with Alice Cooper and Judas Priest.
This late in the year, you’d be excused for thinking this was going to be a chilly show, but it was anything but. Instead, it was a lovely warm evening to enjoy the final show of the season at the outdoor venue for 2025. To make things even better, there was not one, but two iconic, legendary headliners for the price of one!
First up was Alice Cooper. Before they even took to the stage, it was clear there were a lot of fans there specifically to see them due to the number who were donning Cooper-esque makeup.
Although Cooper recently reunited with the surviving original members of the Alice Cooper Band – Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith – for the release of “The Revenge of Alice Cooper,” they have not joined him on this current tour. Instead, he was joined by his trusty band of Nita Strauss, Ryan Roxie, Tommy Henriksen, Chuck Garric, and Glen Sobel.
The large screen at the back of the stage helped give an additional dimension to the performance as they told the story of a man who increasingly lost his sanity until the point he kills a woman, and (as the iconic part of the set depicts) he is beheaded by a guillotine. The set included iconic hits such as “Feed My Frankenstein” (along with the larger-than-life monster), “I’m Eighteen,” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy.” Their set was rounded out by “School’s Out,” a fitting close for the last show of the summer season.
Not many artists are of the caliber capable of taking to the stage after Alice Cooper, but British rock icons Judas Priest aren’t just anyone! Opening with “All Guns Blazing,” never have truer words been sung.Frontman Rob Halford was ever the showman. Joined by guitarists Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap up front, they certainly know how to put on a show and captivate the audience. Drummer Scott Travis was positioned high up at the back of the stage, allowing even the back row of the amphitheater to see him, as he pummeled his kit into submission. Ian Hill, the longest serving member of the band, rounded out the lineup on bass.
They included the hits “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin'” and “Breaking The Law,” both of which received a lot of appreciation from the crowd. They closed out their set with Rod Halford cruising onto the stage on his motorcycle for “Hell Bent For Leather,” before ending the evening with “Living After Midnight.”
If you get a chance to catch this co-headlining tour, do so! It runs until the end of the month. It is not every day that these iconic rockers come to town, and certainly not on the same billing!
